On September 19th, a group of Salt Lake Rotarians joined with the Utah Recycling Alliance and the Yalecrest Community Council to collect hard to recycle materials.
The project insured that potentially harmful items which might have gone to the landfill were instead diverted by groups who were able to recycle these materials. This
included paper shredding, old electronic cords and devices, sporting equipment and TVs (even the huge old ones no one else is willing to take. The event was so successful that the vendors ran out of space in their trucks for all the items donated. Thanks to all the Club 24 volunteers who participated. We'll look at scheduling a similar event in the spring.
