I trust this finds you and yours well and you were able to enjoy Thanksgiving! I have so much to be grateful for - especially - the opportunity to engage our community and you with our work in Rotary for your fellowship, our community needs and international projects!
Restoring Hope and Dignity - Jan McConnell of The Painted Chair Project strives to prevent homelessness by creating first-ever homes for youth aging out of foster care and individuals or families emerging from homelessness after crisis or disaster by transforming their empty house into a warm, welcoming and uplifting home.
As a partner of the Milestone Youth Program supported by the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City the club obtained permission for some of the remaining project funds to be used in partnership with the Painted Chair Project to furnish the new apartments of graduates from the program.
"I’m joining Rotary to connect with people who are curious, engaged, and want to make a difference in their community.
I value authentic exchange, new perspectives, and opportunities to contribute my skills in communication and leadership. Rotary feels like a space where collaboration and integrity matter — that’s what draws me in.
I’m an entrepreneur with a deep interest in people, ideas, and how we grow through connection. My background combines psychology, communication, and the exploration of how humans and technology can strengthen each other. I love philosophy, music, and spending time in nature, and I’m endlessly curious — always studying something new. Outside of work I enjoy time with my family, investing, and learning to play new instruments."

Members In the Community. Justin Welker, Dignitary Memorial
Justin and colleagues decorated and donated a Christmas Tree to the Festival of Trees this year. As this was a work in progress, I think this merits recognition in the District Pause for a Purpose Initiative. All of our members have more than one passion. Please share your stories for inclusion in upcoming Rotary Bees. Let's share and learn about one another and possibly align around a project you are passionate about and fits the mission of Rotary.
