The Rotary Club of Salt Lake City is pleased to announce its revised scholarship program for students attending Salt Lake City School District high schools who are planning to pursue higher education at a college or university, trade school, or certification program within Utah.

Following a review of our previous scholarship program, the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City has updated the application process to focus exclusively on students attending institutions in Utah. Full details and eligibility requirements are available in the online application form.

The Rotary Club of Salt Lake City Scholarship is a four-year award providing $3,000 annually, for a total of $12,000 over four years. Continued eligibility is contingent upon maintaining a 3.0 GPA each semester and participating in Rotary Club and Rotaract service projects. Additional criteria and requirements are outlined in the application materials.

Collett Scholarship
Through a generous gift from former faculty member Highland High School students are invited to apply for one of two $8,000 scholarships. Applicants should use the same online application, and submissions will be reviewed using the same criteria as the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City Scholarship. The Dean Collette Scholarship is a one-time award of $8,000.

These scholarships are designed to support outstanding students who demonstrate a commitment to service, learning, and community involvement.

Application Requirements

Some important details include:

• The Rotary Club of Salt Lake City Scholarship provides $3,000 per year for up to four years. Students attending a trade school or certification program are eligible for two years of funding, with the opportunity to receive an additional two years of scholarship support if they later transfer to a university or college in Utah.
• Scholarship recipients are required to maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA each semester in order to continue receiving annual scholarship disbursements. Funds will be paid directly to the institution of attendance.
• Recipients are expected to participate in service activities in partnership with Rotary and provide a report on their service project.
• Scholarship recipients will also become members of Rotaract, Rotary International’s service organization for individuals ages 18–35. Membership dues will be paid by the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City.
• All high school seniors are eligible to apply; however, preference will be given to students who demonstrate a strong history of community service, civic engagement, and leadership.
• Interviews with members of the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City will be scheduled as applications are received. Early application is encouraged, although final decisions will not be made until all interviews are completed.

• Applicant interviews will be coordinated through the counselor or advisor listed on the application form.
• Letters of support do not need to come from a school counselor; however, they should be submitted by a teacher, coach, employer, or community leader. Contact information for the reference is required.
• Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend a scholarship luncheon to meet members of the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City and current Rotaract members.
• Applicants will receive confirmation once their application has been received.
• Scholarship funds will be distributed directly to the recipient’s institution of attendance.
