Scholarships Program
The Rotary Club of Salt Lake City is pleased to announce our revised scholarship program to students in the Salt Lake School District High Schools who are applying to a college or university, a trade School or certification program in Utah.
Following review of our past scholarship program the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City has refined our application process to awarding students only applying to institutions in Utah. All details can be found on the online application form. The new scholarship is a four-year award of $3,000 per year for a total of $12,000 over the four years. Contingent on a 3.0 GPA per semester and involvement in Rotary Club/Rotaract Service projects. The criteria are fully outlined in the online application form.
Dean Collette Scholarship - Through a generous gift from former faculty Dean Collette, Highland High Students are invited to apply for one of two $8,000 scholarships. Please use the online application. The applications will be reviewed with the same criteria of the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City Scholarship. The Dean Collett Scholarship for Highland High Students is a one-time $8,000 award.
These scholarships are designed to support outstanding students who are passionate about service, learning, and community involvement.
Timeline
- Application opens - November
- Applications reviewed and schedule for interviews - January of the following year
- Interviews schedule - March of following year
- Applicants notified - late March, early April
- Recipients awarded at Scholarship Lunch - April
Application Requirements
Some important details include:
- The Rotary Club of Salt Lake City Scholarship is a 3,000 a year for four-years award, two if a trade school, with an additional two year's scholarship if transferring to a University in Utah.
- You will be required to maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA while enrolled to receive annual funding disbursements paid directly to the institution of attendance.
- You will be required to participate in shared service with Rotary and report on your project.
- Become a member of Rotaract. A sister organization of the Rotary Club for members aged 18-35. Your club dues will be paid by the Rotary Club of Salt Lake City.
- Interviews are scheduled with members of the Salt Lake City Rotary Club as applications are received. We encourage early application; no final decisions will be made until all interviews are complete.

Other Items of Pertinence
- Interviews with applicants will be scheduled via the counselor/advisor on the application form.
- The letter of support need not be from the counselor but must be a teacher, coach, community leader. Contact information required.
- Awarded recipients will be invited to a scholarship luncheon to meet Rotary Club of Salt Lake City members, and current Rotaract members.
- You will receive a confirmation on receipt of your application.
- The scholarship funds will be dispersed directly to the institution of attendance.
