Member Recognition
John Eberhardt
John is the former CEO of Redman Van & Storage, one of Salt Lake City's most storied institutions. The moving and logistics company has been keeping Utah and surrounding regions moving forward since 1891. Under John's leadership, the company maintained its long-standing reputation for dependable household and commercial relocations, logistics, and records management.
Fifty years in Rotary is a breathtaking achievement. It means half a century of showing up, giving back, and living out our motto of 'Service Above Self.' But John didn't just sit in the audience. He stepped up to lead us. From 2003 to 2004, John served as our Club President, steering our ship and guiding us through a wonderful year of local service projects and fellowship. He has also served as the President of our Salt Lake City Rotary Foundation. John and his family participated in Rotary Youth Exchange on two occasions hosting a student from Germany and one from New Zealand. He has spent multiple years tutoring at Franklin Elementary and has participated in a humanitarian trip to Cambodia. John’s leadership left a lasting mark on who we are today. John continues to serve as a member of the Scholarship Committee.
For 50 years, John has given of his time, talents, and heart to this club and to Rotary International. Thank you!
Paul Stringham
At a recent meeting Linda Kruse, Rotary Foundation Club Chair and President Don Weakley had a little fun as they invited Paul to the podium to be recognized.
Don: "Linda, did you know that the Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) is one of Rotary’s most recognized honors?
Linda: “Yes Don, of course, we recognize a member in increments of every thousand dollars member donates to the RI Foundation with a 'Plus' level with sapphires or rubies on their pin.
Don: “Well, I bet you don’t know the highest PHF level a member can achieve”.
Linda: That’s too easy my young padawan, it is the Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) +8, and that is why we are up here today, to recognize one of our members who has achieved the highest Paul Harris Fellow.
Don: “Wow, so what happens beyond PHF +8?
Linda: “After contributing ten thousand dollars, the member receives Major Donor Recognition.”
Don: “I am so excited, so who is this mystery member that has been so generous?”
Paul joined Rotary in May of 2008, he has been a member of the club of 18 years, Paul has served as a Board Member and club President and continues to participate on the International Services Committee and the Nominating Committee. 
We are delighted to recognize him for his contributions and achieving the status of Paul Harris Fellow +8. This designation is presented to individuals who have cumulatively contributed up to $9999.00 to the Rotary Foundation. This is the peak PHF tier before Major Donor status. Paul continues to give in other ways, supporting Ukraine efforts and a member of the past Gala Committee. Tirelessly recruiting sponsors and donations for the gala.
