Dear Rotarian Friends:

This year we will hold a one-day district conference at Westminster University in Salt Lake City on Saturday, March 20, 2027. The event will include a morning of service projects followed by an afternoon of inspiring presentations.

Here’s a summary of the activities:

Service Projects (Morning). For the morning, we will have assembly lines of service projects inside of the basketball gym at Westminster University. We’ll certainly have music and opportunities to chat and laugh as we assemble items for the various projects.

We’d love to get as many members of our Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact clubs as possible to join for the projects. We’d also love to see family and friends join.

  • Panel Discussions (20-minute sessions in the afternoon). 3 or 4 Rotarians with experience share best practices about the following topics such as the following: Food insecurity, Health and wellness, and Literacy efforts (including vocational training). We are open to topics. We want panels about the issues Rotarians care about most and which bring together 3 or 4 Rotarians from various clubs.
  • 3-Minute Project Highlights (afternoon). Share one of your best projects and explain what we can all learn and celebrate from the project.
  • 3-minute Pitches (afternoon). Share an idea you have for a future project or initiative, and explain how other clubs or the district can help. Dream big!

Each month, I’ll share one challenge to build the community.

This month’s challenge: plan to attend district conference.

Commit to making new Rotarian friends, involve your friends and family, and even plan to participate. If you have an idea for a service project, a panel, or one of the 3-minute presentations, please contact Kristi Guest (kristilguest@gmail.com) and me (petercardon@gmail.com).

We’ve distributed a call for participation to club presidents so each club can plan for ways to contribute. We would like to see every club in the district represented.

Thanks for all you do. Service Above Self!

Peter Cardon, District Governor, 2026-2027
